Your Child’s Education

We understand that people learn at different rates and in a variety of ways. Meeting your child’s academic, social and emotional needs are the primary goals of our educational practice. The curriculum is structured to integrate topics across the disciplines weaving ideas and information together to create a deeper understanding. We accommodate students’ interests into our topics of study and use a variety of methods and materials in an attempt to reach all learning styles exhibited by our students.

PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS

MORNING NURSERY SCHOOL

Morning Nursery School is designed primarily as a young child’s first introduction to a preschool classroom. Morning Nursery is a multiage classroom for 3 & 4 year olds who are ready to participate in a teacher lead, age appropriate environment. This theme-based program provides young learners with a balance of structured activities and time to explore their own child initiated projects and interests. Foreign language, art and music are also introduced to the children in this program. The Nursery School Program is offered for Monday, Wednesday and Friday or Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 am – 12:00 noon. Extended days may be added to this option (see Nursery Enrichment below). A five morning option is also available.

NURSERY SCHOOL ENRICHMENT

Nursery School Enrichment is an engaging extension of the Nursery School Program. Each extended day will focus on a particular project or theme: Music and Movement, French and Art, Science Experimentation and cooking activities. Following a developmentally based curriculum, Nursery School Enrichment is ideal for the older Nursery School child who may desire additional activities a few days a week. Nursery School Enrichment is available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 12:00 – 3:00 pm. Families are welcome to participate in one or all three afternoon sessions. A flat rate is applied to each daily session. This rate is separate from the Morning Nursery tuition but will be adjusted if a yearly commitment of two or three days is desired.

PRE-KINDERGARTEN

Pre-Kindergarten is our second stage of preschool, the year prior to an official Kindergarten placement. Our Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) program incorporates a developmentally based curriculum with a distinct balance of teacher directed activities and student choice. In addition to being developmentally based, the Pre-Kindergarten curriculum is thematically organized and includes opportunities to explore art, music and foreign language. Pre-literacy skills are introduced as well as foundations for mathematical concepts. Science and social science concepts are woven into the thematic studies. Cricket Hunt School’s Pre-Kindergarten program is a rich, well-rounded educational experience. Our full day Pre-Kindergarten program is available on a three-day schedule (Monday-Wednesday-Friday) or a five-day schedule (Monday-Friday).

***Please note, any child planning to enroll in our preschool program must be FULLY potty trained and independent in all aspects of toileting care.
