Transportation & Pick-up Policy
For the safety and well being of your child, we will allow your child to leave Cricket Hunt School with only those persons who are listed as “authorized” on your Emergency Form. If you need someone else (other than those individuals specified on the authorized list) to pick up your child, please: 1. Tell your child personally – if time allows 2. Send a written/dated note to the office stating the person’s first and last name (in an emergency, a phone call to the office will suffice) 3. Let your pick up person know that we will ask for photo identification upon their arrival before we release your child to their care
If these steps are not followed, please be advised that we will not release your child. If it is an end of the day dismissal, we will follow instructions on your Emergency Information Card. Please follow our guidelines carefully, they are for the protection of your child and can eliminate any uncomfortable situations when someone not familiar to us comes to pick up a child.

Field Trips
Teachers at Cricket Hunt School use outside trips to enhance and fully integrate concepts being taught in the classroom. Children learn a great deal from interaction with their community and the world outside of their classroom walls. When a field trip is scheduled, you will be notified of the details by your child’s teacher, or through our weekly "News and Notes." You are always welcome to join us but van transportation is limited to the students and teachers and you may be asked to drive yourself or carpool with other parents to the final destination. In addition to teacher notification, you are asked to sign a “blanket permission” form at the start of each school year, allowing your child to participate on our trips.

Fire Drills
Fire drills are held in accordance with state law, and exit routes are clearly posted throughout the building. Teachers are responsible for instructing children in the proper manner and route for exiting during drills.

Traffic and Parking
The driveway off of Independence Drive leading to the school building is a single direction traffic loop. If you are dropping off your child, please pull up to the entrance ramp at the front of the building. If you are escorting your child inside, please drive slowly (to the left of the drop-off point) and park in the parking lot. For your safety and the safety of your child, drive slowly and do not allow your child to cross the parking area unescorted. If you are entering the driveway behind the school van, please stop your vehicle until the van has completely unloaded its passengers, just as you would stop for a school bus. Thank you for helping us to ensure the safety of everyone. At pick up time, please travel and park in the parking lot in the same manner as described above. For appropriate pick up procedures, please see “Arrival/Dismissal Procedures”.
